Here is one of the craigslist ads for $12,000. I agree Roy lot of cash for a car that would have to be completely gone through to be right. The no title isnt a plus for me either.

Agree! Can't blame someone for trying, if you don't start high you get nothing. He has had no action I'm sure that is why someone talked him into Ebay. jmho.........I'm getting lots done!........Later Al

You have a better pic of the red 64 in your sig ? Looks like you have a lot of tire out back.

That is an old picture as the car is apart and scheduled for a complete makeover very soon. The tires on the rear were 50 series so they were 8" wide but not real tall. That issue has been resolved and the new makeover will have a tall and fat (not real wide) profile tire stuffed in the stock wheel opening. The car will look the same as the sig picture but much more refined. The Boss 302 will stay but a very rare intake will be used under that dual scooped hood. ( the hood is not a Crites replica, it is a exact "Plaza Glas" rebop.

Hmmm , Crossboss ? I know what your going through, Im in the middle of a ground up on my 64 Falcon right now also. I went ahead and tubbed it and did a 2" strecth on the wheelwell to get around limited tire clearance issue with these cars. Ive been looking for another 64 to replace my Merc that I sold before I started my ground up. Then I can relax , take my time, and actually enjoy the process. Looking forward to some updated pics of your car, Randall.

Looks like you have done quite a bit of work on the Falcon. I actually stretched the wheel base on my Comet a few inches to gain tire diameter clearance. I also played with the width of the rear housing and wheel offset to fit a good size tire under the car.
No not a Cross Boss, it's rare one of 50 ( I was told) Shelby low rise dual quad. I have two new Holley carbs and Stellings air cleaners. It will look very 60's and should run very well.

The photo must have been taken early in the racing season. The bubble hoods were on the 'FX cars early on, they were replaced by the dual scoop version that was made by Plaza Glass in Canada. I guess most of the racers just threw the bubble hoods in the corner and ran the new version hood.
( this is what an original '64 A/FX owner told me years ago)

The Teardrop hoods were made in Canada along with the T-Bolts and Falcons Fiberglass Idems. Later in 1964 Canada came out with Duel Scoop Hood along with new fiberglass fenders without the chrome pieces that were on the front edge of the two fenders. They also made fiberglass doors that replaced the steel doors on the Comets and Falcons. These doors, front fenders and the duel scoop hood were purchased by the Comet Owners not by Mercury. ~~~AFX DAVE~~~

I'm not sure how many may have come from Mercury with the front fenders minus the chrome but I know at least one did.

I found out why my Comet slowed down so much, valves, guides, valve springs and retainers were DONE,valves had been floating and one exhaust[#5] was actually bent!!I guess after 20 years and more than a few 8000+rpm passes [7200 on the 418] they said ENOUGH!! Should get them back in a couple weeks, better than new!! ROY
