Adjusting the rear height. The plan is to run original KH artillery wheels with Firestone Bias Plies. The yellow reversed wheels and white walls are just rollers during build stage.
We ended up taking out a few leafs to get the ride height where my brother wanted and to soften it a little.

After the fuel tank, interior and the wheels and tires that are going to be ran are installed we'll see if it needs more adjusting.

For god sake paint it man! Rust is what Rat Rodders like because they don't understand what paint is or how to use it!

    Doc,
Well the plan is to paint it. It's not a Rat! Just hang on and don't get too carried away. We are fabbing everything now and after everything is done and worked out it will all be painted. If you like the build then subscribe and watch till the end to see the results.

Sorry "doc"watson. Won't paint a hot rod before I'm mocking it up, fabbing motor & transmission mounts, setting ride height, & general profile. So before you "RATrod"-me-out slowwww down & hold on. It'll be together & apart at least 5 more times.
But thanx for your constructive encouragement. I'm pretty slow, it'll be at least partially done someday.
    Haven't decided paint color yet.

Nice to see another 30 coupe getting a nailhead.

Got a good chuckle over the long motor comment, yes they are long. Cheating and using a 32 frame will make it a lot easier, otherwise they tend to migrate through the firewall. Front motor mounts are nice, like the hefty construction with sweepy lines, look good.

Would be nice to 1-800 all the parts, but I like the way you are going. Making your own takes longer but makes it your car forever.

    Good work. Keep It Up

Thanks Canuck...your build thread "A NaIlhead, A Coupe, A Roller" , has some of the most detailed pics w/ captions, hopefully you'll have some new updates soon, have enjoyed following that with your detailed descriptions.

Sorry for the tardy reply, Its my poor sense of humour! I realise it is not going to be a rat rod and you are not one of....them!!
I have a 28 A RPU started in 1998, its far from as finished as your car!

Got the A out & it saw the daylight for first time in two years. Unfortunately not under it's own power, or stearing.

This '39 Deluxe found it's way out of a Kansas Barn, so it stole my attention & Model A's workspace most of summer.
But it's got it's "newer"40 flathead in place, runnin & drivin as a survivor & we can get back to work on the '30.

Brother Took a trip to friend, Bobs, a master metalsmith for help on transmission tunnel. We were really slowed down by more floorpan work than I anticipated, So Bob fabbed transmission tunnel. He's got lots of metal bendin toys & even more skills.

    Dash work
    Tried 34 chevy
    & change plan to
41 Ford (rough cutdown & mockup still).
Anybody got a fantastic NOS 41 gauge? Or will I have to send gauges off to Bob's, or Any recommendations on 41 ford guage?

Needed to get some more room b/w starter & frame rail, so ordered & installed Mini-starter from Russ Martin Centerville.
    Nailheadbuick.com
Now steering has some room (barely). But solenoid is down & posts out front creates some much needed space.

Cool build, the nailhead is a great choice. You'll get a lot of questions and comments from the public from" going outside the box" with the engine selection.
Step by step gets you to the finish and then the cruizing starts..

    41 dash instruments...home restoration.
Thought there was no hope for these guages. But took original all apart & cleaned up better than expected. All original, glass too. But I did find NOS 41 Speedo, 000000.1miles.
Later, hookup may be another challenge

Corrected. Upside down on a couple layers of panels to reveal copper sun rays. Much better.
Can't wait to see if some work & with bulbs behind them.

41 dash fabbing the curved ends back on, I've seen some of you metal pros make many pie-cuts & work metal around, so some of my novice work makes me feel like a caveman

Floor is in. Just fabricating up a new inner floor tail pan to make a little more trunk space. Every little bit counts on these cars.
