I have never been good with band names or choosing car paint. I am opening a shop and want a good simple name thats tasteful yet speaks volume about hot rods. I'd love it to be 60's inspired.

I'm opening it to help get the youngsters working on cars, I already have an investor to help buy parts for the under privileged and and It opens in the few weeks.

    thanks

I am not good with names either. Sometimes it helps to get something down on paper and it sparks something better. "The Twisted Wrench" for a starter maybe.

  10. You need to have a name that won't leave people guessing what you do. The above suggested "Hot Rod Crafstmen" for example is good. You don't want a name like "Smith Systems"...what kind of systems?..... Sprinlers?? computers?? Your sign and logo should be informative.
I was in a business for 23 years. When I opened our first shop, my (first)wife and I argued about the name for weeks. She wanted something cutesy. I finally gave in and we named the business "Creative Corners". Does anybody have any idea what we did from the name? I doubt it. Second biggest mistake I ever made. The biggest is now an ex.

  11. I was charging out parts on a repair order at work a couple weeks ago. At the top of the order, where the computer prints out the customer and vehicle information, for some reason it printed out the words "WARRANTY SOUL". Which sounded like a great band name to me but maybe it's suitable for some other use.

Or maybe change the spelling to something like Warren T. Soul Garage. ;)

For a logo, the Willys: [ "before pic" = "after pic" ] - in metal only of course.
Above the pics is the arced word: Resurrection
Below the pics is the arced word: Rods
& maybe all superimposed on a rising (or blazing) sun - in yellow, thankyou.
Has quite a few meanings, both literal & metaphoric.

I'm not going to submit any names but I will tell you my pet peeve about business names that IMMEDIATELY tells me not to do business with them...

Spelling it wrong. Kars instead of Cars, Kustomz instead of Customs. If you think edgy is more important than professional, I will assume you will be "creative" in your quality of work as well instead of "professional".

I've known few flashy people that were good and many high end professionals that were quiet and humble.

My philosophy has always been "Beware a man with swagger, for swagger is all he has."

Whenever you go back to your parked hot rod someone always says "light 'em up when you go", so "Light em up" Hot Rods.

  23. Ya, maybe your right about the spelling thing. Take for example "House of Kolors" paint products, they never went anywhere, and they've been spelling Kolors wrong for over 40 years.

In your case you are looking to draw in young kids and poeple to help. How about Inspiration Motorsports or Inspiration Automotive
