Hey Racer29, yes they are Coker radials, and I think they look a lot like bias ply. Watertown show is still going strong, I think they do a really good job each year.
Got some color on the body last night, decided to do the back area separate so to minimize chances of runs.
Thanks for the good words everyone, got a little more done last night. I did not paint all of the trunk because I am going to line it with insulation.
The white firewall is sweet.......more photos please! Come on...its been 2 weeks....HAMBers are waiting
More pics please, got that covered. I sanded and buffed the frame and stuff that bolts to it, so I am putting stuff together so that I have a rolling chassis now. Still need to put on some brake lines and other small stuff while the body is off. Painting, sanding and buffing a frame sucks, way too many corners and edges to work around. This color doesn't help either looks like every angle is a different color. I wasn't happy with the short studs on the front wheel hubs so I replaced them with 1/2 inch longer ones
Lookin good and good call on the studs can't wait to see it in one piece, digging the fire wall ,that's what the plan's are for mine too, hopefully I'll get something done before summer, i need more guys like you and your build to get my arzz moving keep them pictures coming======Jack
Yesterday I put the body back on the frame, yay. I put some tape on tape to cover the stickiness then taped paint sticks to the frame to keep the body from touching the frame. As I lowered the body the paint sticks would slide down. Several places I have from 1/8 inch or less clearance so the paint sticks worked well.
Thanks Matt, I had a neighbor call me and say"do you want me and my son to come over and throw the body on quick", scared me to death!!! I saw massive chippage in my nightmare that night, so I came up with the stick idea from fear lol.
Time to dust off this old thread after 7 months of not working on the A I have gotten back to work on it. First I finished buffing the doors, hood and all the small stuff.
Thanks for the good words guys, Wex65, that is going to be one really neat coupe, heck it's already really neat. I hope everyone takes a look at your build. I decided to put a top on my junk and not do chicken wire. So first thing I did is,I got some Masonite, made a paper pattern and cut, fitted, drilled and glued and screwed that on.
