Thanks, mr Campbell, man your posts are deep lately, unfortunately I'm not on a plateau, just envious of deuce chassis and busy raising a young family... 5 y/o and wife, but thanks for the inspiration, trust me I'm building this little coupe in my mind at all times.... I do feel you though if I didn't have the 54 to hop in and beat on I'd be insane... Helps with the coupe build though, I don't rush things...

  10. Yearning here man. 8 year old, 2 year old, and a filthy divorce. I'm 43. Feel tanked. You guys amaze me. I have piles of my life all around me. A lot of mine doesn't impress me much.....not today. I love stuff like you. Taylor Texas. That says plenty. That A your screwing together...is good stuff. Perfection is always someone else's vision. There's a lot of perfect in Taylor. Happy Thanksgiving man !

I dunno' how deep any of that is......losing makes you appreciate things a little more maybe, age makes you want to share it. Living is pretty damned deep. Not 6' though !!! haha

Been thinking about the best way to put a 3" radius in these carb bases/runners,

But I'm no fab man so here's the shade tree way I came up with... It's working so far...

This is how you get damn lucky placing the steering box, still scared it's too good to be true...

Yep, and I hope it stays that way, still fooling with steering...

Next build is getting a flathead, this engine leaves no room for anything... Good news is the headers hide the intermediate shaft pretty good...

So now I'll be looking for the late 31 optional column drop/extension. Think they came in phaetons maybe? Hint hint? Anybody out there?

Working on my driver door today, aside from just cutting it 5" I've got hinge issues...

I'm trying to rebuild the inner structure and hinge mounts out of the sections I cut out.

You probably won't get any pictures of the outer skin going back on, I'm sure it won't go so well...

  21. that's why I removed my top hinge, I did ream out my other hinges and install a little bit bigger pins.

Wishing I did now... Wouldn't have made much difference though, the middle driver is the same way...

Never had the driver door on... Be careful out there, if you put off body and paint, you accidentally build the "R" word...

Small update, you may have seen the thread I started asking about the origins of my steering wheel. Well what I thought was an early ford odd ball wheel is sadly an MG wheel. Thanks to everyone who helped though...
Now it all makes sense, the female splines that mount it didn't look like anything I'd ever seen before... It's a neat looking little wheel and is right at home in the coupe, so it's here to stay....
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1421888227.944412.jpg
A good friend milled the back down eliminating the original mount...
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1421888303.719880.jpg
I welded in some 3/8 aluminum to drill and convert to a 3 bolt flange...
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1421888398.178897.jpg
I'd love an original column but will do my best to make what I have look at home...
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1421888509.887407.jpg
Now I'll hunt for some manner of a ford button/cap to finish it...
