Just picked this up in the LA area, was wondering if anyone recognized this car, or has any info on it? Was told it ran a flathead in it, has old ford rearend Any help would be appreciated. Special thanks to drumyn29 on the HAMB for making it possible to get the car home!
Can't tell you a thing about it but its cool as hell. Oh and I am not SoCal, so excuse my entrance without invitation.
Actually that was pretty common at one time. I always hate to see an axle that butchered on the street but I have seen a few floating around in the last few years.
I don't remember it, grew up there in the time this gasser might have been running...the small airscoop does suggest a flathead...wish I could help
I'm pretty sure that with a flathead it would have been H gas. That class was for inline sixes and pre 60 flathead V8's.
Story was it was raced from the 1950s into the 1960s with a flathead then parked till a couple years ago
Ok here's a couple more pics, they sure drilled a lot of holes, even the rear backing plates , hard to tell by pics but rear has been narrowed and it's deff a Ford rear
PHTTTTTT they forgot to drill the grill bars. I doubt that anyone at the local track will be impressed if you show up and run a flathead powered gasser but it will be a hoot to drive. Looks like you got yourself a winner there in the lets have some fun dept. for sure.
Hah your right about the grille I would like to build a tribute to my Dad who passed in 1989, he loved gassers & especially race flatheads. He left behind an 80 over 59AB so I think that's a good candidate, now just need some speed parts!
