  2. I have one about 1/2 built. Was working on the motor this week and opening up the fenders for rear slick clearance. Been beating on it for a couple of years. Got to the stage this week were I realized this is actually going to get done. Nice feeling. I can't show a pic but it is a traditional gasser NHRA style. Slant six power, rectangular tubing frame, straight axle, 10% engine set back, ladder bars, slicks and 2 drs. My friend also has one with a 355 SBC. In fact he gave me this body and he wanted an earlier one. He has been racing his already a couple of times. The crowd just loves it. We want to match race although with six I may be handicapped. I will still run him though just for the enjoyment others will get seeing a pair of them.
Meanwhile "Rusty O" has begun a great project with a 32 American Bantam. Recreating his first race car and it has every promise of being extremely cool.

Any of the guys building Altereds got any progress pics? Gassers are my favorites, but Altereds have a warm spot near my heart too. Lol.

Posted this on a couple of other threads. Think it fit's here too. 7-years coming. First and second time out anywhere. Second picture was one week later. Was able to get the side moldings, outside mirror and tow tabs on. Was also able to get a little wax on it. Can't take the credit for the pictures. Gene.

I saw this car in person. Beautiful.

  20. Hey Gas, was that a real GTO? That would be a Lemans VIN. Pretty bad ass especially for something that you dragged out of a field. The Pontiac Purests will hate you but who cares.
It sure beats rusting back to the earth that it came from.

Yeah man, it's a real GTO. There wasn't anything left on the car. no wiring or nothing. even off of it's frame. Like you said, screw the purists - at least I saved it! LOL

Nice progress on the GTO, any details on the build or engine? I've got a 469 i'm running with some real nice dports also thats 12:1. Should be running low 11's-high 10's next year.
