Sorry, nothing that came off is still around. Everything went to others doing restorations. Nothing was scrapped!

  2. Mike,
The fender bracket gets mounted to the cross member and then the grill gets mounted on top of that. If you are not using fenders you would have to make a spacer the same thickness as the fender bracket to locate the grill in the stock location. If you need the thickness of the fender bracket where it mounts to the chassis I could get it for you some time this week.

    Tom,
Since I will not be using fenders up front. I plan to mount the shell bracket directly to the cross member. It will lower the radiator along with me lowering the body over the chassis.
Does the shell brace mount on top of the fender bracket mounted at the front of the cross brace?
    Thanks for your responses.

    Thanks Tom,
That info will get me going.
The part that I did not know was where the fender brace lived.
I will fab a thin (1/4") thick flat bar to substitute for the fender bracket.
Looks like from your picture that the shell bracket bolts to the outer two holes of the fender bracket and the fender bracket is secured to the crossmember by two bolts in the inner holes probably with a rubber pad isolator between the two.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

Hi 6-ball Here in Parke Co. Indiana We have over a dozen covered bridges. The main reason for building covered bridges was to protect the wood. It was a good place to take your girl on a moon lite night in your horse and buggy. Speaking of horse and buggy it made a place to get out of the rain to. Come to Rockville In . in the2nd week of oct. you will enjoy it. Don in Indiana

image.jpg I posted a pic of my 29' a few pages ago. I found some better pics so I though I would throw them up. She's currently tucked away in my neighbours garage. She'll be up next, once I finish another long term project. This era of car is really new to me so I have been reading anything I can find on here. Lots of great info.

Not sure why that posted the pic twice. I'm still getting acquainted with the new system.

Anyways, here's the other side image.jpg

    image.jpg Nice work Tomh.
I am using my original shocks for the old look.
The front shocks are now mounted to the rear of the I beam.
The rear are mounted on the boxing plate in the original area though I
Bent the arm to align with the custom made spring plates much like the original set up.
I just drained and refilled the shocks with hyd oil from Tractor Supply. If they are too stiff I will thin with kerosene and refill. image.jpg image.jpg

Are those shocks double or single action. I have a good set from a '48 pickup that I'd like to use on my roadster. They are single action. The work on the rebound only but the theory was that the springs resisted the other way.

Mike Rouse, I like the way your front suspension components are set up. Very Clean and Eye Appealing !!! I am dealing with a 36 Chevy and would like to know more about your Disc Brake Parts. Supplier or Parts used would be great............... Thanks, Jeff

The disk brake set up came from ECI. Engineered components incorporated. Worked as advertised. I think they are great.
