Cheers Louis, When I took on the extra workshop space I had to spend time on that and it put me behind with my customers work so I could not spend much time on this. I am still busy as hell but can get some time in on this now. more to come soon.

Following on from the photos on the last page here is the almost finished bun panel...

Just a little tweaking from here, and I have to dress the weld.

Work of art, wish you could make me a set and ship to US. All I can find are panels in worse shape than your template panel

  6. I'm impressed. You know that because I have told you at least a half dozen times already. Less concerned with what you have done and more interested in where you are going. If you have to chose between updating and pounding tin, I hope you will pound tin. If you have to chose between recapturing old images and posting new ones, I would prefer new ones. But mostly, I like opening up the HAMB and finding a fresh post on this thread from you at the top of the forum. Always interesting. Always inspiring.

Thanks, I really want to get this moving on now.

I could do that but the cost might be prohibitive. I am going to make some more I will show how I get on.

Thank you you are kind. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I usually post on here while watching tv. It's uploading photos that takes time.

I used a clamp to put the turtle deck panel I made together with this bun panel to check the fit. The top of the turtle deck panel is slightly wrong and when I checked the buck I realised that a chunk had fallen off. It has been knocking about for a lot of years. Simple enough to sort out.

Here's another shot. I had to clean a load of rust off the turtle deck panel for these shots, I am going to have to put everything in primer to stop it getting worse.

I am going to knock up the inner wheel well section soon. Then make the rest of the turtle deck.

What gauge metal are you using for all of these panels? I couldn't recall if I saw it elsewhere in your thread.

I use one mm which is pretty close to 19 gauge.

Thanks David. Looking forward to more pictures as always. Curious if you are going to fabricate internal bun panel brackets that are just like factory as well.

Yes I am. The idea is that it would be hard to to tell this from an original once I get it done

It's already far nicer than the original.

...and this is the inside of the welded area, no planishing or dressing had been done when these photos were taken.

I love seeing the progress on this car. Please keep posting lots of pics, as I learn every time I look. I'm building a '26 T as well and it needs almost as much panel replacement as you are creating from scratch.

  24. I know this has been said a bunch of times before but your skills are amazing. I enjoy reading this thread and learning from your posts, thank you. Also i've watched your YouTube video and its great. Really inspirational and informative for a novice metal man like me. Thanks again.

I have a few more photo's of the making of this panel I will post soon. I started making the tooling for the inner wheel well panels today.

I have four youtube videos but I think you are talking about my DVD. I am glad you liked it.

    Thanks for your comments guys
