Projects a basket case worth saving

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by drumyn29, Jan 19, 2012.

  1. That's a hell of a long way to go and to come from in under 2 years.
From river banks with Trees thru the roof to what you have now.
I'm very impressed and happy for you.

So what's going to get most of your attention now, finishing this one up or the 33?

Are you kidding! Fantastic ammount of work in 2 1/2 years. I have to admit the color is bitchen, and the "Jigsaw" name is a little edgy and works for me, have you decided on a color for the lettering yet? I cant believe you got it painted that quick......You gotta be happy now....Congratulations.

Whatever you choose for a name, Gold Leaf spells Gasser to me.

Took the front wheels off to get chromed and narrowed also fastened the firewall, now it's time to finish headers.

I like the idea of chrome fronts, but I can't believe you are not using those on the front! That car looks like my teenage dreams. 1967!!!!!!!

  14. lol "A River Runs Thru It", Brad Pitt in a gasser mask.... just kidding Skeleton gasser Willys outrunning its waves, Riverbed Runner.

You live in a great place to enjoy that car. I can't wait for others in your area....to get tuned into what you accomplished. Also, I can't wait until you can have some real fun with it. Stellar results. Sure it never mattered....probably born with the smile anyway. Definitely a positive person.

    Awesome job, truly.

Is that aluminum firewall going to get the polished treatment, too? I hope so.

  24. Suture Self - as in suture, stitches on a wound.
    A play on
    Suit yourself -
I didn't build it hoping to get your approval , I built it because it meets mine

Now play the track announcer in your head " here's the suture self willys. This car spent a good portion of its life stuck in a riverbed. "

Now update the 33 thread :)

Killer job! I've got a Willys that's waiting to be done next. Truly amazing what you accomplished here!

  27. I just worked my way through this entire thread...I'm speechless at the dedication you have shown to bring this poor old Willys back from the grave! Love the final colour, and glad you went with the Hemi instead of the SBC. ;)

You get two huge thumbs up, and a "Atta Boy!!".

  28. Cool thread. I had a model of the Stone Woods Cook car in the late 60's that was molded in about that exact color. I believe the real one was metallic though.

I took my wheels to Oscar at Bolton Wheels 16516 S Western Ave, Gardena, CA 90247 (310) 538-5046

He decided to make me a set from old ford centers he had lying around the shop, they look damn close to Rambler wheels.

My new soon to be chromed 4" skinnies.
