I get to see those cars every year at Pete and Jakes. Pretty bitchn.

I know it is a dick move to post a pic of your own car, but I was kind of missing this thing a bit lately...might build another one someday....

Man that car is one of my favorites and I have featured it on my site, pewsplace.com, several times – absolutely gorgeous.

  5. Abone: If that thing was mine I would post it also, maybe more than once!! It is awesome. Having owned three '34's, It almost impossible to pick a favorite. If I pick one, someone will post a pic of one I've forgotten about. I think I sat and looked at pics of Jake's coupe more than any other, other than my own sedan..I'll post a pic of a pic of it. Well wouldn't you know it, can't get an image to upload after bragging about the new hamb all day. I'll try again later. Tim

Very hard to pick just one... Cal Tanaka's & Vinther's coupes always pop into my head, along with Dick Patton's old flamed roadster or the Morgan roadster... Tex Smith's tub... Nope can't pick just ONE!

    Attached Files:

  20. For me, I'd say the 15oz fuel coupe.
    Don't have a pic, and please don't tell me its a 33. :D

But for a road car, Flamedabones beats em all. IMHO.

Jack Morgan 1948 Mirage car is a definite "lotsa' eyeball" '34 Ford. Just a race car.

Different vein, but still a 1934 Ford....Edsel's Model 40 Speedster is just "punk" for that year. Hard to look away.

As well, at the risk of being shot, stabbed, tarred, feathered, drawn, quartered, and ass raped......there is something flammable to me about the FAT JACK ROBINSON "in your face" '34 coupe, as well as the ole' Super Bell '34 coupe. No pictures needed.....too easy to find.

Surprising the ZZ Top iteration wasn't mentioned.....even if one could photoshop off the billet, and graphics....it has always been an easily remember-able ride. Could have been the chicks in the video though.

I'm very fond of the California Kid and Jake's Coupe for a number of reasons. They live about 7 miles from my house. I had the pleasure of driving with the two cars down to Austin for the Lonestar Rounndup. The cars caused a stir when we drove into the fairgrounds. We drove through driving rain to get there. Thank God for Rain-X. I have seen these cars up in the air and can safely say they are definitely traditional hot rods.

Ok, for me this turned my world upside down, in a time of pastel and billet lances 34 "Jersey Seude" flipped a switch. Appearing in street rodder this car redefined what a hot rod should be.

I would have also have to add the Super Bell coupe and the ZZ Top's Eliminator coupe too. The Super Bell coupe spent time here for a Pete & Jake's Hot Rod Parts catalog cover shoot. Like the California Kid, it was used to showcase Super Bell parts in the early days. The Eliminator influenced a new generation of car builders. All the cars I mentioned were on display at the NHRA Museum to honor the 1934 Ford.

  26. I am sure to catch nine kinds of hell about this but MY favorite '34 Ford is Ernie Szelesi's "Goldbrick". I had framed the page from Street Rodder and hung it in my room in my younger days. Goldbrick-1988.jpg

Next up is Don Vargo's "69'er".
    kgrhqz44.jpg

And Ollie Hines' coupe with the Brewster grill, although I am most partial to the brown version of this car.
