It just seemed right so I went with it :) I would have liked to have made them longer, but I'm keeping a close eye on what seems to be working for others. That's one of the nice things about coming in later with my car. Building these ladder bars has been fun.

  3. Holy shit man you did free hand it :D that's impressive. I have one of those things - it has 2 bottles - never figured it out yet o_O . I figured you hit it with plasma and used a jig.

Like the card they give you at the HAMB drags says "GO MAN GO!" Looks killer.

  7. I always liked the leaf spring wheelie bar but also wonder about the rebound of them.

    Thanks!
I got 95% of the welding done tonight. I used mig flux core like I do on just about everything. It will take me several hours to clean all the spatter off. Gonna get it nice and shiny then clear coat it. I really like the look of bare metal.

I like them as well and have several ideas on how to use them. I also like how Greg Porter has his done with the shock absorbers on the back. Probably going to build a set similar to Quain's with the aluminum flat spring. My idea is to run them very low, but with plenty of give in them. I want to avoid hitting them hard and unloading the tires.

Have you tried any anti spatter spray to help with spatter clean up?

I can't wait to finish them but just can't find any time. I'll knock off the slag and clear coat them and throw up some more pics in the next couple of days. I am pretty happy with them so far. :)

    I don't think Ryan gives a ton of "Do-Overs" Dog....lol!

I think Groucho came back by overwhelming demand, but I sure do hope we could see ol DJ back on here.
I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I do know for sure that although a little hot tempered at times,he's a good dude.

Who knows....Now that there has been a bit of a "cooling off period",maybe the mods would give him another shot?

The guy did add quite a bit of light hearted humour to the site, what with his videos and giveaways and all...

I for one was dropping in twice a day just to see if he had posted any new videos,or made any progress on that killer Chevy.I really dig the way he set that motor back and fabbed that scoop enclosure.

This is'nt Beans first bout with the BANNED bug, he'll be back.

  22. Is he on Facebook ? Shoot me a p.m. on user name if he is, I'd like to keep updated on how he is doing.

  23. Scott, what I heard was that he posted some pics of his ladder bars, on a ladder bar pic thread, and someone really let him have it about the gas torched holes and rough welds. Then Old Bean Dip let the guy have it back with both barrels blazing.

That's unfortunate. They did look pretty heavy and gnarly, but the look he was going for was home brewed, torch cut, backyard 1965ish anyway,so I see both sides of the argument.

Tht sucks that he got the boot. That dude made me laugh all day long:D

He did them himself the way he wanted them. That's cool in my book.

Thanks for the update , sounds like the guy he unloaded on
may have deserved a little feedback !!
At any rate , his posts though slightly off color sometimes,
    were entertaining and honest !!
And the 56 is pretty cool !!

They will be under the car and painted black most likely so you will barely be able to tell. Poor guy. If someone takes a shot at him I feel like he has every right to shoot back.
