Love it! Some vintage Link Wray and the Wraymen with cool-ass videos. Link was a very talented Southern Maryland lad. May he rest in peace.
..................Though born in Dunn, NC. Wray spent most of the 50s, 60s and 70s living on the family farm in Accokeek, Md. and also lived for periods of time with his brother, Doug, in Waldorf, Md. and also in nearby White Plains. Sadly while living in Denmark he passed away just a few years ago and a huge talent was lost.
All true. My dad played drums in a Washington D.C.-area band called The Classics in the early-'60s and they used to open for Link Wray around town. I always thought my old man ruled, but his cool points shot through the roof when I heard that one.
If Link was still with us he would be 85 yrs old. There is a guy also from Maryland that ran a street roadster back in the 60's named Fritz Wray. He was sponsored by Custom Speed Shop in Wash. D.C. Wray is an unusual name....Fritz is still alive and well probably in his mid 70's living in Southern Maryland.. Does anyone know if there were any brothers or relatives around??
