Torr Skoog was a local legend in the hot rod and music scene. He was unique, rough around the edges , talented and he loved old automotive junk. His passing was tragic but his legacy lives on through his friends and anyone who was fortunate enough to talk to him at a show or swap meet .
Awhile back I was lucky/unlucky enough to become the new owner of one of his unfinished projects , a very rough 27 ford roadster. My plan is to build a very traditional hot rod from old parts that I have collected and old junk I find along the way. So here we go......skoog special. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414103917.606359.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414103938.824819.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414103984.061921.jpg

Started with a really nice 40 banjo rear, ripped it apart , flipped the bells and added a model A spring and 46 short radius rods. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414104118.490383.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414104131.411753.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414104142.781256.jpg

Awesome! Torr was a good man, I miss listening to him cuss at Necro and I over the phone. Look forward to seeing your progress. I'm in the process of gathering parts for a Boston Shit Box clone. Haha I just ain't gonna try to kill anyone in it.

Shortened the rear cross member and mounted it on top of the frame . I'll make gussets in the future to help support the x member. Now the wheel base is 102".

That's just bad lighting, the body is pretty rough on one side. Ray's the guy to do it justice though, stoked to watch it come together... Positive vibes baby.

It's true the bad lighting is why it looks good. Thanks for the positivity john, I'm gonna need it!

Positivity??? Really???But seriously, I'm glad you got the project-I'm sure it will do justice to the memory of the original owner.Remember, Mike's Model A Parts is always available for those hard to find items nobody else has(or wants).Big inventory reduction sale going on now for the Holiday Season. When's the next "Torrnados CC" meeting?? Strategy must be put in place for the 2015 foray to the N.J. shoreline! Positivity??

Maybe entertaining, but the offer( though well concealed in BS) stands; anything I can help you with from my vast collection is on the table, If you shake the "Spare Parts Tree" in Danvers, Auburn, and Byfield, I'm sure lots of stuff will fall out!Stay in touch, and keep up the good work.Happy Halloween to your boy. Ray I've got some pieces that came out of the red bahn that might be a good fit for this car. Nothing crazy but a couple cool pieces Torr sent my way that I doubt I'll ever use, let me dig.

SUBSCRIBED! I really like what you're doing with this build.

Somehow I never met Torr despite having many mutual friends. I actually ended up with a fair number of parts from his collection when they were auctioned off a while back though and I'm using the T cowl I got with the back section of a T touring on an A frame with a 47 Merc rear and an 8ba. It started out as a roller project that I thought I'd sell, but pretty much as soon as I listed it, I started feeling unable to part with it, so it's gonna get built and I'm going to drive the crap out of it.
