I need 49 or 50 merc sheet metal to graft in, if any body has a donor car please let me know. sincerly M
Waiting on a good friend rob montgomery to build my grille surround then trim and float the plymouth unit
I'm sure you notivpced after Rob's post that the Merc shell does not need to be scaled down. They are still out there but run about $600- $900 most of the time. An interesting idea that I can't take credit for is the use of a left and right garnish moulding from the quarter windows of any car you think has a nice shape. Just cut the B pillar and sill portions off and weld the two together. I used a Merc shell in mine and it fit quite well.
This is how I did mine. Saved me a lot of cash not chroming all the grill pieces. And the parking light housings are crazy expensive. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I also picked up a decent 55 Chrysler new Yorker grille bar, whats the best approach to shortenting these, saw rob had one mocked up in his shoebox for a while
An idea I had for my Merc. while looking at an early Mustang was using the front bumper as it is V’ed already. Sorry no pics.
