    Hey Guys,
I'm Tim, and I'm pretty new here. I'm looking for ideas for my new build. I just picked up this 1941 Chevy coupe. It has a 59' 235 3spd in it right now with terrible wheels and tires. So, lets start with what drive train to go with, and what wheels, and tire to run. I'm looking for a mild custom look.
    Thanks for the help,
    Tim

Mild custom to me means subtle, simple changes. Removing extra trim, rubber rake, mild drop, clean paint, etc. I would hot rod the 235, split manifold, multi carb intake, etc. Trade the 3 spd for an overdrive of what ever type, and maybe some chrome reverse rims. It is YOUR car, so do what YOU want with it. Here is a nice 235 for inspiration.

    Wow! that 235 looks sweet.
Got plenty of mechanical skills between myself and friends. I'm not doing any paint work yet. It's okay the way it is for now. As far as budget I've got about 4k to work with to start, but I'm not looking to brake the bank on this. It's a running driving car as it is. I like the idea of keeping the 235, but want a tranny with a overdrive. I like the look of stock painted wheels with caps and white walls too, but don't really want to pay coker price.

What you have is a great combo. I think a T5 trans would be fun!

i have a 41 olds and i drove it for 15 years with the six banger in it. the engine finally took a crap on me so i put a 350 in it. for short you dont have to be in a hurry to do this if the car is safe and drives and stops fine than do the things that you want to. t-5 would really be nice for it.

    Hop up what you got.
2 or 3 carbs and a split exhaust won't break the bank.
If it was mine, nose in the air, straight axle, skinny fronts,
Torque Thrusts on the rear as big tires as you can get under the fenders.
Leave the trans, and try not to break it!
Drive it like a kid would in the 60's.
It's shiney so leave it that way.
If you are handy you'll still have a grand left for gas!
Which is what cars are really about!
Have fun whatever you do it's yours!
