Hello all, its been a whiles since i have posted. I am still working on my 54' chevy. I took it last week to Phipp's Automotive in Dallas so they can install my drop spindle kit. Anyways, here are a couple of pics...... As you can see, the front end is still sitting a little too high even with 2-1/2 coils cut...... M-
IMHO I'd be happy with that bearing in mind that the wheels have to be able to turn in the fender opening without fouling on wheel arch during corners and suspension travel. Looks good.
Yeah, I agree 100%. But you gotta give a little sometimes for the right look...... M- Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
If you consider it a hot rod then maybe an inch lower in front, but since you posted this in (traditional customs) the rear could come down 2 or 3 inches...beautiful car.
Yeah, I haven't been on this site since the upgrade. Wasn't sure exactly were to post. I would love to go lower in the rear but that will require some pretty massive modifying. Not sure I want to do that considering this car has 37,000 original miles. But it would look sweet...... M- Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
What is hanging from the ceiling at Phipps???????? 2cents: drop the back end down to the edge of the hub cap opening
It's a airplane fuselage. His dad built airplanes. I would love for it too be this low- But I don't want to butcher the back half of the car that much. C-notch is the only way to get it this low.... M- Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Those cars ride sky high stock, looks ok so far. You can get a spare set of control arms and "step" them to get it nice and low up front. Still retain plenty of travel with that method. Out back Posies slider springs or de arched springs with 4" blocks and air shocks will work without a big frame notch. Thats about all your gonna get w out more modifications. I agree 100%. I bought 710s from Coker and at the time they didn't have any 670s. Here's what it looks like with the stock wheel and tires- M- Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks Lone Star. Can you get 4" blocks? I have 3" blocks in the back now..... M- Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I've seen people say they have found them, but I've never seen em for sale. I run the 3" blocks and drop springs with a few leafs removed. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
