D-Russ, I've been thinking About that, thanks for the heads up.... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Here's some chassis pictures.... Just because I like them. While I've got a little work done on this rainy Memorial Day, I sure wish the mail was running. I've got a transmission adapter on the way! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Busy tonight... Trans adapter was here when I got off work. So I built the tranny mount and got everything sitting where I like.... I was so excited I forgot to take pictures.... Sorry. But the finished one speaks for itself... It sure gets my wheels turning!!!! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Finished up the transmission mount today. Had to make some room for the shift rods on that side... I sure like seeing that chassis in the sun light.... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
h Have you had the body on since you installed the shifter? Hope it's not going to be too far back. Looking good!
No sir I haven't. I think it will be just about right... I hope, if not ill cuss the gent that sold that stuff to me.... I'm kidding mr Eddie, I owe you tons for how much you have helped me... Thank you sir! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Just letting you know I'm still here and still on the coupe... No real progress to speak of, just gathering parts. Hope to have some updates soon. New brakes... Well not new, you know... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have a couple of tricks that I used in building my '55 331. One of them pertains to the "long" cam. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/331-hemi-buildup-suggestions.933433/#post-10515366
Thanks for the link, I read through that thread the other day.... I don't think I'll be anywhere as hot as your engine... And it makes sense to run the short nose cam... I have to with my timing cover anyway. I need to start researching cam profiles and get that aspect figured out... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I had no ready source for a short cam so I made do with what I had. You've been pretty successful at scrounging parts.
Sorry for the late response... I taped off 5", with cut and cleaning I would assume 5.25". I wanted 6 real bad but the other half wasn't going to let me... I'm happy with it now, the quarter window isn't overly distorted... Thanks again for watching. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Yes sir I appreciate your help. I need to get back on the internals... Going to balance the rotating assembly first. Try and educate myself as much as I can before I buy a cam... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thanks, Ya it looks good man! I just chopped mine yesterday. I went 5" at first but ended at 5 3/4", I too wanted 6".
That's awesome man! Whacking a car is somehow very fulfilling. Really gets you amped up on the project... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Love your build. I have my Model A down again to change (upgrade) some suspension problems. My Model A has a 432 cid Hemi, 833 mopar 4 speed and 8.75 mopar rear end. I haven't been able to figure out how to post picture.
I hope you figure it out, I'd like to see it.... Thanks for watching.... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I'm a computer moron, but am working on getting pictures posted. My son will be here next week to take over and he will probably get it done for me.
Alrighty folks, been away for a while, hopefully now I can give you more updates.... Headlight stands, off an A bar, never done it before, turned out ok... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Thank you sir, that was fun. Started working on subframe for the body. It's boring and ugly, but essential I guess.... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
