Came across an extremely clean original 54 chevy step side. All the body work has been done, Interior currently being re upholstered, runs drives stops, inline 6. She's been Jealous of my past cars (67 Lincoln and currently 31 A coupe). She deserves a rod and this is the one. We'll be picking it up this weekend. Immediate plans are stance, wheels/tires, paint. It's gonna make her a happy woman and she's gonna look hotter than hell in it. Here's the only photos I have so far. I'll post more when we get it home. I'm pushing for turquoise with a white top. Color matched wheels
    And wide whites

I might be more excited than she is haha. The biggest task right now is getting her away from flat black/red wheels

Check it out It may very well be a 1st Series 55. Many are titled as 54s. 1st 55s had open drives. I had a 55 Hydromatic 100 GMC thought it was a 54 for years.

It is definitely a rare one with the auto. Once I get it home ill do some more research. I was given the option to get this truck for a favor i did a whole back. Found a yellow 65 c10 that was identical to a buddies wife's. well he sold it without her knowing.

I travel a ton for work and look for cars all through south tx and Oklahoma. Well I found this c10 that was priced wayyyy too low, called my buddy and got him out of the dog house.

I just think turquoise, white top, color matched steelies and wide whites would look killer. Turquoise and black are her favorite colors so we'll see.

Just my .02 but I think these trucks have enough going on already without 2 toning.
Small accents like diffrent color wheels or striping ,etc.looks OK but........
I genrally dont like diffrent color tops on GM "pickups" until the 60s and after.
Sorry but like I said, thats just my .02

Used to be I never cared much for those, was more into the late '55 & up trucks. They've really grown on me the last few years. Done right they're a knock-out. Nice score & do it her way ( as long as it's not flat black/red wheels :D).

I'm with you on the flat black but, that's her choice. It'll be her truck. It'll at least be a satin black and not just flat.

I definitely got lucky on this find. I find cars all the time for other people just because I seem to be good at it. It's about time one came my way Haha. Pay it forward

  21. I have built both the 54 and 55 first series mine were 5 window trucks, your lady will love it. 54 enclosed drive line, 55 open drive line. I removed the bull nose and welded the seam on the hood. It looks great.
    Good luck on here truck.
