Very cool, and amazing someone purchased it and never got opened after all these years! Any Weiand stuff with "Say-Why-And" on it is vintage. I'm running an early "Say-Why-And" cross ram on my gasser.

This is an early cast small journal main girdle. I've never seen another exactly like it. Anyone recognize it?

You guys have some really cool SBC stuff! Here is my Mcgurk 6x2. I have this 4-71 intake and any info would be appreciated about who J&C Eng is. Thanks

Yep, using that same one on my roadster engine, McFarland claims tons of torque.

A few months ago I was glancing at ebay and came across a intake to mount 2 x twin choke down draught webers in inline for a SBC. I have seen plenty of side draught and down draught manifolds to mount 4 carbs but this was a first for me to mount only 2. Any one else know of this manifold?

That is an Autolite in line 4bbl. Ford ran those in NASCAR in the 70s.

  14. Yep I know the inline webbers reminded me. They were available for street use, I don't know if they were an option on the BB or you had to order separately from Ford Motorsports. Anyone I have ever talked to says that they were a crap carb for street use but if I had one I would have to try.
What better engine to try one on then an SBC maybe all that made them a crap carb was what was under them. ;)

The only intake I've ever seen for the Autolite inline 4bbl is a 427 fe intake. I came close to buying the entire setup for my 56 mainline with a 406. The seller talked me out of it for street use, but the cool factor is off the chart. Joe Buenetic in St. Louis was the seller and had several of them.

  16. The intake I posed is an SBC intake, but I haven't seen it either just the pic. ;)

Never the less if someone sends me an inline autolite I'll make one and it will be rare. :D

Finally had my camera out when this resurfaced.

There is a flat plate with slots in it to allow timing of something. (Injection Pump?) I was going to use it to drive a distributor but that plan has changed. BTW it is too deep to run a short water pump without spacers. I would imagine it was meant for a no pump application.

GearheadsQCE: I believe your pictured front cover to be a 'race-only' piece that would use a Lehman type crank-drive water pump, while the large upper flange would give better support for cam-drive dry sump pump system. needs final machine work & mounting holes drilled. Hope this helps.

Anyone ever seen some Almquist chrome covers? They were made in Milford Pa. in the 60’s: 212F18C6-0DAD-429C-860D-3CD5159DED48.jpeg 15E11537-C951-4BBE-873D-7478A6442F3E.jpeg
