Found this the other day about 15 min. for my house, plan on keeping this one around for a while. In storage for 10 years. Super solid car with really nice original red interior.

Is there a long-ram "Sonoramic" intake hiding under the hood?

Nice interior? No rat shit? Really? Not wishing bad things but, that shed doesn't look to be very critter resistant. Hope it will clean up and be usable.

Should be a 413 RB under the hood. I seem to remember the 'criss cross' ram induction being a 1960/61 item. Maybe it was available later.....damn CRS! :(

Looks like a non-letter Sport 300, which would have a 361 V-8 under the hood. Some came with manual transmissions.

I am thinking non- letter 300's came after 1964 300K models......as always, I COULD be wrong, and often am, but until I get home and research this more, I'm sticking to that opinion. Watch this space for a retraction...:D

    EDIT:
DOH !!.........:(:( Consider this a 'walk back' of my previous comment regarding the "letter car".......

I can understand about this one sticking around for awhile. Let us know when the Ebay ad will appear and we'll watch the bidding.

  20. No, non-letter 300s began in 1962. As said, likely a 361, although 383 and 413 could be ordered in them.

Thanks for the positive comments! Much appreciated.

A few asked about engine. I was told it's a 413?? Not so sure about that, but it's at least a 383....I think?. I haven't checked #'s yet. The really cool part though is they spent $2400 rebuilding the motor (have paperwork) in 93 and only drove it 500 miles then parked it. Also has a push button auto.

As for ebay... no. This is going to be a keeper for a while.

Also 62 was the first year you could get a non-letter 300, unfortunately this is not a letter car.

I never said it was perfect, but I think pretty nice for an all original interior....There is the split seam, but it cleaned up pretty well with only a vacuum and a wipe down

One of our family cars back in the day was a '59 New Yorker with the 413. It was an awesome engine.

The car was so quiet and comfy that it was sneaky fast. I recall a family trip to Daytona for bike week, me driving with Mom doing that ol' eagle eye on the speedometer. ("Don't go too fast...!")
At about 70, the RH vent window would set up a little whistle, kinda like an audio speed alert.
At some point in the trip Mom took over at the wheel while I caught a nap. When I woke up a little later, the vent window was just raisin' all kinds of hell. Sneaked a look at the speedo, Mom had 'er setting on about 95. When I pointed this out, she almost crapped her britties!

Seems I also remember that car getting pretty good fuel mileage, too.

Looks to have cleaned up well. Always like to see more pictures. Cars stored in sheds like that up my way rust away. Nice to see one that came out that nice.
