Hot Rods Hamber broke down in Traverse city, MI!!!

    I'm in traverse city now and was get ready to make my journey home 2.5 hour south to Muskegon when I noticed my alternator bolt snapped off in my block with No way to fix it.I'm screwed!!!
    Help me out it you can.

    Well the hotel maintenance lent me a drill and drill bit so I hope I can get a easy out then fix it.I'm definitely putting a grade 8 bolt in it!!!

    If no luck finding an easy out, use a small prick punch and try tapping it to back it out.

    how are threads above it, that long adjusting arm must be acting like a pendulum

    You need to rethink your mounting brackets. One bolt into the old motor mount hole and the adjustment arm attached to the other end puts the alternator into a twist and even a grade eight bolt won't cure the problem.

    Glad you got it fixed. I would venture to say that the constant vibration of that alternator bracket caused the bolt to work harden and eventually break off. A much stiffer bracket would help.

    Ya I made it home and yes I'm going do something different with the mount.it was a nice ride home but man my face got sun burnt.

    Is that your feet? Not the best work shoes, but who can be picky when broken down, on the road.
    Is there a build thread on that little baby, looks nice.
