You could train a monkey to weld if they weren't afraid of the flame...

It's refreshing to see a Gasser style build with some BALLS to back it up and not a 305 with open fenderwell headers.

Been watching this since you first purchased the 55 and have to say that it is looking exceptional. Love the engine, what throttle response!. Just goes to show that the old ways do produce rather good results...

Looking forward to the finished article and the obligatory burn out video.

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I kept the truck spindles, I bought the speedway disc brake kit for 2nd series truck and requested the rotors came with 5 lug rotors. Kit is really cheap comes with new bearings and spacers to run the rotors, and GM calipers.

Are you going to tie the two motor mount frame brackets together with a bolt/welded in cross member? No motor mount biscuits either? Just asking..

That Hurst-style piece is pure art. I can't wait to see it with all the machining marks polished off.

If I knew them I'd share, but I think it's one of Keith's secret recipes.

A lot of progress this week, will take a short break early next week to wrap up another project. By then a good parts order will have shown up and more solid progress will be made. This one won't be just another '55 gasser, that's for damn sure .

To go along with the drilled axle, I made this grill insert. I think it'll get chromed in the end...sorry for the bad picture, had to steal it off of Instagram.
