One question and this is not meant to criticize your choice just wondering why you went with the Edelbrock carb over other brands

I kinda left all that to ryno as he's a lot closer to it than I am...............im guessing it's what he's familiar with.

  7. Appears to be quite a thorough and proper job. Thanks for sharing all the details.
Ford power is cool. Those motors sound killer. I dig the mint green color.

the observant amongst you would have noticed that the P/S pump and its filler came close to where the battery should be, so it now resides in the trunk.....................

ryno got the old battery warrantied ...nice new one fitted..

Oggie, yes, we fly into Chicago this Saturday pick up the hire car and drive Rte 66 to Joplin, hook up with Ryno on Tuesday, dump the hire car and start driving 'Lucille'....spending some time there + the HAMB drags then onward on Rte 66 to CA, planning to go to Ventura Labor day weekend for the Ventura Nats......then back to LA and leave the car at the shippers, I have a buddy in CA who will sort the shipping UNLESS my 6 numbers come up in which case it will be staying .........otherwise it should be home for Christmas.

    counting the hours..................:):)

  13. Sounds great Keith, when you get to LA let me know and I'll send you the address in Longbeach where to drop it off and the shipping address in Melbourne. Be sure to drop in at "pops" on 66 just before OKC and get a cool bottle of burch beer, mow to much and randaddy took us there last year, and just a block up from Buddy Guys blues club on Wabash st you can get the hair cut of your life!

If you come through southwest Utah please give me a shout. At the very least drive by my house so my '50 can see what it's supposed to be doing instead of fighting with me non-stop!

If you make it by we'll BBQ or something!

Long 1st day on the road, body clock meant we were awake by 3am. ..!...
Hit the road around 6.30 made good progress down the mother road for several hours, then lost our way, back tracked..got lost again and finally gave in to the freeway....!

Met up with a bunch of folk on bikes from Italy and Spain at the chain of rocks bridge, lots of bikes on the road...

Finally ended the day in Cuba,.....we're going to back track a bit and go to Meramac caverns as it was to late to visit last nite

Wagon Wheel motel, built in 1934, limited pics as most are on my camera and I'm typing this on the wife's iPad..

    Dinner......
