some little work on the lakester to prepare the Pendine Sands race..... extended roll cage arround the drivers head, and a fire wall. a push bar the race comming soon!!!!!
What a great build! I would love to do something like this some day. Can't wait to see it on the sand!
some cool pics of Pendine Sands Race 2014 and my lakester Unfortunately, I broke the gear box main shaft 1day before the Pendine Race. So I have not been able to run.... just pushed by my friends 27 roadster...... I will work on it this winter to be ready for the next edition. So I search a 40's Ford gear box (with the side shift lever) to swap my french ford gear box....
Oh wow, I just saw this build, very impressive! A homebuilt quickchange?! Well, looks like I have some research to do!
To bad you're so far away, I have a 40's three speed trans with the side shifter that I'm not going to use. By the way, love the pics and even though you were pushed and towed it looks really sweet! Good luck on next year.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune one day before races!!! Was looking forward to hear speed you would achieve. Nice build up and will look for further updates on changes and next years race,. Earl
Ever feel like the world is passing you by.....Or you're walking through the forrest and you can't see the trees?? Glad I found this thread. Great work!
Great photos Chris, the Lakester looks incredible.I hope we can get down to Brittany on our trip to catch up. We had a great time at the Hayride with you and the boys. Chris.
Very very nice as a fast Lakester owner myself I know how much work you put into the car. Just getting her out into the day light is a huge step once you get the gear box issues sorted your going to have a ball driving the car.
Fantastic - I've been admiring your work for a while now! Sorry to hear about your gearbox issues. If SCTA doesn't allow it, and you want something more than Pendine, you could always ship it over to South Africa for Kalahari Desert Speedweek at Hakskeenpan (same place BloodhoundSSC will be shooting for 1000mph!) http://speedweeksa.com/ Rand to Euro at around 14:1 might make this a whole lot more financially viable than you might think
Wow! Is all I can say! Truly incredible build. Sorry to see the tranny broke but I'm sure you get that fixed up in no time! What is next?
Yesterday I happen to be looking for some specific pictures of the Eddie Miller Streamliner (since I'm sort of obsessed with it) and I stumbled on a French thread that you posted this on. Couldn't read a word (HAHA), but MAN O MAN!!! I'm so glad to see you posted it here. SOOO bad ass! Fantastic job! I'm blown away. What are you doing with the car now? WELL DONE!!!
