The first photo is of my Dad in 1948, the second photo is of me Today. The location is my Grandparents neighborhood in Oakland California. Notice the flower pots above the garage door…….still in place after 66 years! Anyone else have time machine photos?

Cool, I'd frame them in matching frames and hang them side by side.

Let's see....garage door is different, tree on left is missing, bush on right is taller and blooming, car is different make,................kinda like one of those teasers you see in the newspaper, what is different!
Great pics, it's always amazing to see how much places change or stay the same over the years.

Nice photos Ron. Some more from Oakland in the '50s. The guy in both photos is the same. The house is down by Lake Merritt. DSCN0003.jpg DSCN0018.jpg DSCN0023.jpg DSCN0007.jpg DSCN0011.jpg DSCN0008.jpg

cool photos. A few years ago I went to Oakland to see the house where I lived when I was born. my grandparents lived across the street. I didn't get out of the car and take photos, I locked my doors and got the hell out of there.

Thanks everyone. These are great photos.

  23. Yeah, I did the same thing. The neighborhood where I was born is now just "the hood".
