Mine is also presently under construction. I studied a lot of pics in this thread as well as other sources for inspiration. I'll post pics when it's right and done.

Marty, Man that looks sweet, the way that licence plate bar comes together is a simple addition that adds a lot. Well done!

Thanks for the compliment, if you are interested, I did a thread (Tech Week: Rear bumper/Nerf Bar build) on this one.

  8. I made many isometric sketches, trying to get the simplest, neatest nerf bars for the roadster. This is what I finally came up with...

These are the nerf bars I built for my gasser. Nothing fancy, and not even chromed, but I like them:

Thanks for posting this tip. I thought it would work well on my car, so I bought one recently. I like it.:)

I've always loved Nerf bars. I'll be modeling the front one on my '40 after the one on the front of Chuck De Heras' '40 Ford coupe, and my Dad and I built the one for the rear of the car awhile ago.

    Bumping this up,
I think this is as traditional as it gets, and I need a nerf bar fix.

It means 'bump', or 'nudge'. There used to be a place in Southern Cali, out in the valley, called 'The Nerf Bar". I went in there a few times, never met any gearheads, but there was open season on 'split tail'!
Neat little place, off Roscoe Blvd. 1967...

I did these a while back, and decided they needed the bullet extensions. IMG_3727.JPG IMG_3728.JPG IMG_3764.JPG IMG_3766.JPG
