Mine is also presently under construction. I studied a lot of pics in this thread as well as other sources for inspiration. I'll post pics when it's right and done.

I've always loved Nerf bars. I'll be modeling the front one on my '40 after the one on the front of Chuck De Heras' '40 Ford coupe, and my Dad and I built the one for the rear of the car awhile ago.

It means 'bump', or 'nudge'. There used to be a place in Southern Cali, out in the valley, called 'The Nerf Bar". I went in there a few times, never met any gearheads, but there was open season on 'split tail'! Neat little place, off Roscoe Blvd. 1967...
