I'm putting together a 350 in my '67 C10. (Yes I know, I know, but it IS traditional).
I need some ideas for a cool 60s air cleaner.
    Show me what you've got.

Sure, if that makes you feel better.

  4. I went with cal custom stuff for my panel. All the other air cleaners I've been collecting are more 50's and older. I know the air filter looks goofy, but I got it new from Amazon for $25 and couldn't pass it up. engine-4a.JPG

  8. I'm in to watch this. Although for me it doesn't have to be strictly 60s. I'm having a heck of a time deciding on something for the 301 in my 39 pickup.

  9. Me too, but the hood never gets popped unless I'm checking the oil. Maybe I'll stumble across another cheap K&N in a human size. The low profile one came with the air clean and was OLD, all the open element ones were taller at the parts store.

The problem with those is they are too common.... I'm gunna go a chevy style chrome one with an L79 tag on my 10.5 to one l79 cammed motor i'm doing in my 65 elky daily, simple, cheap and again common, but not as common on a traditional rig. Plus it fits the vibe i'm going after, making the motor look like it was 1/2 built out of the dealer catolog in 67-68

Got an early 60's pie pan Corvette air cleaner. Found it on a Mustang. Oh the humanity! Scored the valve covers to match recently. All on the shelf for a future X frame project when I find the right one. (pic's to come if I can ever figure it out).

Shelby Performance had what looked like an enormous velocity stack but just a few inches high. Had a wire mesh over it. VERY tough looking.

    Me likey this one!!

I could see the Corvette cleaner, as long as you have the valve covers to match.

  20. I wanted the thick lip for valve cover sealing and plain, not too much options for a 390FE......unless you want the high dollar stock hipo stuff.

    Badgers?

here are a couple--one is a repop early corvette style. The other is an old corvette swap meet item that had a dented top (actually a dual 4) so it has aftermarket top on it, sorry for the add'l pics MVC-012F.JPG MVC-011F.JPG MVC-010F.JPG MVC-012F.JPG MVC-011F.JPG MVC-010F.JPG
