I'm running a Weiand head now and I run NGK BP6HS or Autolite 4123 or 275. I like the NGK plugs best as they seem to run cleaner. The Winfield heads I have also have 14mm thread plugs. I would run the same plugs in those too. I have run Champion plugs, but I've had quality issues so I stopped running them. .
Banger news this month - nigh on a thousand miles touring Wales last week finishing up racing on Pendine Sands for two days. Nearly 5mph off my record but still sneaked the V4F/R class win...
Wobbly video from me… small tripod and camera mounted to the screen post. This was the last run of the day on the Sunday just a shade under 70 - my slowest run yet. Obviously I recorded it to make sure I tried harder next year!
Ok, I know not traditional in any way in in the HAMB way but has anyone tried a small turbo on a ford A or B Banger? Looking at running a small diesel turbo with a standard 125 over A with a side valve low compression standard head (have a very late A diamond 1948 head) should work well together. Upside down intake/exhaust, with just inserts mains/rods. Everyone just runs twin 97s, that sort of thing,,,,how about holley 350 with a T25, T4 or equivalent smaller turbo? Should go ok

Hey guys, I picked this up today..... How'd I do? Does it look to be in good shape? What do I need to look for? I also picked up what looks to be a near-mint B cam. So, with a Mallory dual-point, Burns intake, dual 94s, and the parts above, what else do I need to hop up my Tudor mill? How will the stock exhaust work (at least until I can either find or build a header)? Thanks!
Pretty daring if that little motor has brushes, the one I had said not to use with gasoline because of brushes possibly arcing !
Fellow Bangers! I am embarking on my first banger build for my early 31 Tudor. I have been collecting parts for the better part of 2 years and I believe I'm getting really close to what I need to get started. I currently have: 2 complete engine/transmission assemblies 1 engine (engine number is original to my Tudor - frame number matches) Burns 2x2 aluminum intake SEVERAL Holley 94s (will have 2 built by dickster) Mallory dual-point distributor Ford "B" police head Ford "B" camshaft Where would you seasoned veterans recommend that I start? I was thinking that I could disassemble both blocks and use the best of either one. Both have been rebuilt at some point. The one that came with the car, I believe, was rebuilt in the early 90's but has very few miles in that it was never tagged for street use. The other came in a rolling chassis. Its head is red with a green block and there is some sort of black "sealant" running down from the head/block mating surface. I do know that I want to lighten one of the flywheels. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Sounds like a plan, other than the lightened flywheel I think I would stick to one carb untill you install larger intake valves and a stronger cam and a little higher compression head.
The plan is to do all those...5.2 head, B cam, flywheel, intake, carbs.....The only thing I'm not doing (at least not at first) is larger valves. The big restriction, according to my reading, is the stock intake. By installing the Burns unit, I'll eliminate THAT restriction. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the input!
