Hot Rods Unearthed: 32 3 window

Finally, after a year of chasing this 32 3 window, I am able to say it is now mine. A few years back I heard a rumor from one of my friends that there was a 32 sitting somewhere around town. After 6 months of following every lead on the story I hit a dead end. Fast forward to one year ago. I'm helping a girl move out of her house and her mom sees my 64 wildcat. We start talking about cars and she mentions her dad was a hot rodder in the 50's and 60's. Then she proceeds to tell me her father has a 1932 ford that's been sitting since the 70's. After moving everything into her daughters new apartment her mom hops in with me and we head over to her fathers house to look at this supposed 32 (I thought it was going to be a model a). We pull up to the house and nobody's home. She leads the way around back through bushes and chicken wire and there under the cover is a prewar car. Trying to control my excitement, I pull the cover back. I can't believe my eyes... it's a 32 3 window. I asked her if her father would sell it and she said no but she would ask. A month goes by and I finally get a call from the granddaughter. After talking for a little while I ask about the 32 and she says her grandfather doesn't want to sell it. After that I drive over to the grandfather's house once a week to try and talk to him about selling the car but every single time he wasn't home. Three weeks ago I was finally able to talk to him over the phone. He told me the car wasn't for sale and hung up the phone. I texted him an offer and told him to call me if he changed his mind. He called me last week and I went over and bought the car yesterday. I will be picking up the car Sunday so more pictures will follow.

I was going to comment, but after reading this, what ever I was going to say escapes me....

 

I needed a good chuckle today and this did it. Back to the car -- coolest find I have seen in a long time! Looking forward to the trailer loading pics.

Great find! I always wonder why someone finally parts with a car they have had all these years, sure hope he didn't sell for health reasons. Knowing it was under that trap must have made him happy, if there is more to the story and cars history I hope you post it. Bob
