History 1928 ford blown hemi race car found!

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Lazlobassett, Apr 25, 2014.

  1. They park them for a reason and running great is at the bottom of the list. Hopefully, whatever it is, the fix will come easy.

Don't know or care what you paid. What ever it was, it bought you the A ticket. Enjoy the ride!

Just for looks? I mean, this is a crazy-cool find and I'm insanely jealous of you, but .. just for looks? I feel like that's kind of underplaying what this hot rod was back in its glory days.

Don't get me wrong, either way, congrats on this find. I daydream of stuff like this happening to me..

Well... The looks thing could change....Turns out there is a friends of some of my friends who is known for early blown Hemis, I'm going to see about an introduction.
There is a very good chance he was racing at Dunkirk when this car was there...
    More to come.

    Cheers!

  10. Well fuck me, that's badass. Yep, get her up, and going. Congrats on that mega find.

My two cents? After getting it running, and driving....... Flake the hell out of whatever paint is going on it, put a badass pearlescent 60'2 vibe interior in it, button up a wicked 4-71 blown hemi.....and drive the shit out of it. Screw all that keep it as is relic talk. Give it what the owner and car wanted in 1961. You have nice shit in your garage......I see the same with this one.

Hope your smiling makes your ears higher, sir. Enjoy.

OP was last on forum in December 2016, so he's still around albeit intermittently.

Dang, first time i seen this, wish we had updates. A friend of mine called me yesterday, he bought a 28 model A coupe, rust free, found it in a barn in Ohio. Old guy he got it from said his grandpa bought it new. He got it running and cleaned it all up, I got to get over there and get some pics of it before he sells it. Wish I could run up on some of these finds.
