What a cool story of patience and luck! Awesome you got this gem. Cant imagine it going to a nicer guy than you!

Im betting the parts you got along with the car should pay for a large chunk of the original purchase price!

This is the type of story you only see on TV. What a cool opportunity!

Littleman, try some 409 cleaner (seems fitting :D) and a soft toothbrush on the vinyl. Followed by a protectant of your choice. Gets in the crevasses real good.

I'd say this might fall into that "once in a lifetime" category. You won't stumble across this sort of find everyday.

Well done for sticking with it and giving the seller the breathing space to make his decisions.

    Mart.

Littleman, I also live in NE Ohio. Do you mind letting us know the town where this came from? I used to race at Thompson back in the day and was just curious where this gem was hiding all these years

Spent some more time cleaning.......All of the top surfaces suffered damage due to panneling and other items stored on top of the car for years......

Bumps, bruises, & all, might be better to do the CLR deal on the surface rust and go with it Littleman. That thing's a time capsule.

The other week I found the missing headlight buckets and grill end surrounds in the garage the car was kept............still has the original T3 headlights intact..............Other than pick up an assembly manual, I have not done too much to the Chevy......

Quick update............I identified the correct set of heads to the car, The block was cast in May, the heads cast in June and the car was assembled the first week o July 62.........This Saturday I loaded my truck and delivered the engine block, crank and heads....along w/ the other [3] sets of hp heads and the other short block to Tony at Ross Racing engines..........Everything will be cleaned and checked out...........I wanted to have a clean bill of health on everything.......so I can sell off the spare stuff to fund what the original engine needs and the car in general..........I also took the cam and after market pistons that the original owner intended on using......if we can use the stuff we will......I would like to kinda finish off what he started and use as much stuff as he bought .......allthou the cam seems a whole lot on the big side............we shall see..........Littleman Dave
