What width is your axle housing? I'm planning on using an 8 3/4 under my Henry J. I found a cheap B-body housing that seems like it might fit OK. Nice Henry!

That's a pretty wide axle. Do you have a plan to keep all the welding heat on the back side of the housing from changing the toe of the rear axle? Or is it simply a matter of making some 1" tacks, check it and then finish it up?

The housing is fully welded and good to go........I did not strap it down or strap and preload......It took me a few days 1'' at a time and weld placement....It was checked before and after. The finished pics are in this thread....Dave

Engine set back perspective with the front clip mocked up....

You do not see the cage from the side view...

I lowered the cage and squirted the top of the cage hammertone blue before welding into place..

Nice, I have a Sears located. Just waiting for the right time. Sears was a Henry J sold by Sears for anyone that did not know like I didn't before finding this one.

That would be called an Allstate. Still a rare car for sure.

  28. In the mid-fifties, we had upgraded to a '52 Henry J from the '41 Pontiac Torpedo in my avatar. No trunk, but it was a neat family car. In my mind, I'm juxtaposing Mom in your updated Henry J. Hilarious visual! Thanks for the mind flip.
