met speedy bill , what a sharp dressed man. supporting the crew that took an old beater stude to 200mph. doing what he did made the gearhead world a better place.
Bill will be missed that's for sure. He definitely made an impact the hot rod industry. Few people can say they achieved the success he did in all of the different endeavors he had. I'm lucky to have met him, he made a major impact on me.

years ago I was at Beechcraft in Whichita Kansas. We had bought a new King Air 350 and I was learning all about it.I had a weekend off so got up early and drove to Lincoln. It was a slow day and was the only person there. Mrs Smith came out and showed me around,She had a great pedal car collection and was talking about it. I was so impressed here was this lovely lady her arm in a sling from a fall and she spent time with me in a museum she has probably seen 1000 times.A call came in for her so she said "Take your time I will be right back" So I wonder around and meet another fellow . While he is one of the shop restorers! gives me a short tour of the back rooms! Mrs Smith returns and we all say goodbye and I take the long drive back. WOW what a couple. great memories for me! I was given a catalog and never bought anything. Kind of felt like a bum. Thomas
In 93 or 4...we did an Americruise to Lincoln...Highlight of the whole trip was meet ing Bill and seeing that awesome collection of speed history...Nice guy!
Just got our pair of Kogel "Racer Rocket" heads back from the machine shop and can't wait to run them eventually! (pic taken before machining) A pair of Dual coils I bought for cheap from a guy who had stuff for sale on craigslist. I now only have one.

I still have the Kogel Heads that were my Dads from the 50s and using them on his engine being rebuilt by Bob Baxter right now.
I had the pleasure of meeting Bill back in the 80s,I bought a Mustang Fastback 289 Hi Po from one of his employees.It ranks up there with meeting Richard Cabela,another Nebraska luminary.RIP,sir.
I have a set and they have some small cracks? Was this a problem with them or is it just mine? How do you pressure test something like this? Thomas

Kogels had problems with cracks. I guess they can be repaired, but this is why there aren't many around.
