I guess this is why they call it the Golden State, the color didn't show up too well here but it is a real golden color. There was some kind of a triathlon going on along the PCH The Golden Gate Bridge Gotta have a little drink at the end of a hard day driving the 52 Way Off Topic but I have never seen a Tesla before. Great Scenery along the PCH Neat Mural on a building across the street from our hotel in Eureka Ca. Lots of early morning fog Look what showed up. Here are some from the Redwood Grove Young Elk resting in a meadow. Lots of these off shore rocks Neat old concrete bridge Rhododendron Working lighthouse I love the way the constant wind shapes these trees The wind was really blowing While I was in the neighborhood I bought me a wayside Mt Shasta The were building a new bridge over Shasta Lake and the was an disabled RV blocking the single southbound lane, we were sitting on the old bridge for 45 minutes while they removed it. So I took some pictures. Wow, great trip report, thanks. Mind me asking, what went wrong with the trans? Or, did it just have a million miles on it? I want to install one in my '40, so I am keen to know what to look for in those 200's.

Yesterday I started out the day with a visit to Weedetr in beautiful downtown Red Bluff Ca. The familiar 40 Sedan Delivery is still ready to go on a moments notice I love the hood on this 5 window Customers Mopar Sign from the original when Dale and his Dad had it. Our Smiling host, Mr. Dale Caulfield. We left Red Bluff and headed east to Grass Valley and then took Cal 49 and ended up in Truckee. Took some pictures at the bridge over the Yuba river. An abandoned building on CA 49 This road has lots of curves and hills, just beautiful About 2 weeks ago I received a friend request on Facebook that completely blew me away. It was from a guy that I was in Marine Corps Boot Camp at San Diego. I have kinda looked for him over the years but always around L A as his folks lived in La Puente. Never got any results. But here comes this friend request. So anyway he now lives in Roseville Ca. We changed our schedule to spend the night in Roseville and went to dinner with he and his wife, it was a great meeting and now we will keep in touch. I hadn't seen him in 57 years. So on the way back from dinner my power steering took a shit. I put a post up on my breakdown on the board and got on the phone and computer. I found this shop' A customers roadster Another customers car. The guilty party, can't understand how it could go bad with only 88k on it. We are spending the night in Porterville CA, a neat little and one or our favorite steakhouse's THE OAKPIT. A statue of some dude, prolly Mr. Porter. Tomorrow we gonna do some wine country and then head for L A. To be continued BB
As of hitting L A last night it is 190,974. Should hit 200k this year with no problem. That will be 200k in 10 summers. That should be some kind of a record. BB

Driving west on Hwy 46 towards Paso Robles we came across this, lots of sports cars entering the facility. We passed on that and kept on going. Don't know what these flowers are but they kinda look like the oleanders that they plant next to the freeways to absorb the carbon dioxide. They come is several colors Vineyard with hills in the background, lots of them close to Paso Robles. This is the intersection of Hwy 46 & 41 where James Dean crashed and was killed. The memorial just up the road from the intersection Still smiling after 5k on this trip At an outdoor Café off of the park square in Paso Robles, really crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Filling our faces as usual Paso Robles park without the cars I have never seen so many working oil rigs in one small area before, they are barely 50 feet apart and there must be a thousand of them on Hwy 46 near Lost Hills CA. We are now in San Dimas and will do some shop tours and get the new driveshaft installed, more pics to follow. BB
You're my hero dad. What did I miss about the driveshaft? Did you realize that abandon building you took a picture of on Ca. 49 is one we also stopped at in 05?
