Thank you Dan for taking such an amazing picture of my RPU, seeing it through your perspective is like looking at it again for the first time.

Thanks truckjunky24 and inkstain27. inkstain27, your 1926 RPU was very cool. Hopefully I will catch it again sometime in the future without other cars so close.

It always makes me smile seeing Hotrod Dan's "Hotwheels" roadster at a show. I met him at an early SK 500 in Dewey. We have been friends for years.

I agree Herb - I met him originally at KKOA, I think, and we have been friends ever since as well. I always look forward to seeing him and Duke and Floyd and now LP too.

  8. After several years of trying, we finally made it to our first S.K.500 and we had a ball! Always fun seeing old friends (Duncan, Dave & Chris) and meeting people that we've only talked to via the internet (Mick & Travis), not to mention all that we were introduced to while there (thanks to Duncan & Chris). Hopefully we'll be able to make next years 500 in something more appropriate (God, I hope the '57 will be driveable by then).
Anyway.. Dan, I'm a big fan of your photography skills and enjoy seeing your work, thanks for sharing. Later..

Thanks 1stGrumpy - I am glad you finally got to experience this tremendous event. Here is definitely one of the wilder customs that showed up.

I didn't see this car till I fueled and iced up at the Quik Trip neer the hotel on Sunday morning. It was my favorite car this year at the 500.

The 59 El Camino was certainly one of the stand outs of this year's event, Herb (39-2dr)

dam. i just fell in love with my car again. one hell of a shot.

  15. You're right Dan, that was a pretty wild El Camino. Did you happen to get a pictures of that black and white '56 Belair, so simple but one of my favorites.

  16. I really like the green Ford. HRP

MrPants - I am glad you found and like the pic of your car. Is it a 30 or 31? 1stGrumpy - unfortunately I don't think I got a shot of the 56 Chev you're talking about - I don't recall ever seeing it, but I don't recall a lot of things. HRP - thanks for stopping by. Hunter73 - I love the clean look and definitely the color of your Ford too.

    1stGrumpy, I was mistaken - I did get one of the B&W 56 Chevy.

The Stray Kat 500 is known for its great Friday evening pre show barbeque. Here is a view of all the activity from the roof of Travis Miller's store (Too Tall Okie her on the HAMB)

Thanks Ted (Mr Mac). There will be another better one coming up in the next few days.

And now for something you definitely don't see all the time and certainly one of the stars of this year's event - this 1958 Edsel Roundup 2 Dr Wagon. More on this one later too.
