Well made some progress today. Mounted my appleton 112 spotlights. Also lowered the car 3" in rear. Then i put in my new master cylinder. Tomorrow I am going to bleed the brakes, and then tear off all the fenders.

Keep up the good work. It will be worth it when you go cruising. I love my "40". 406936_513451955334641_1268274717_n.jpg

IF you want to follow the crowd, then do what black 62 says - build the car his way...but to be different and stay with a "small following", go the direction you stated, 54hotrodder, in your first post.

    I'm in agreement with you...it'll make a cool tail-dragger...

Yea im fine building it this way the way it would have been done in the 40s. It will be a cool car when done, because you dont see many custom chevys done like this. Thanks for the support 40StudeDude

The thing that impresses me is.......................apparently you're a kid!! Way to go--great work. I remember this build style from when I was a kid; back before electricity.

Well some progress pictures. I got my hood mocked up, and the dash painted burgendy. Tomorrow i will buff it out. I want to lower it just so the front tires meet the arch of the front wheel openings.

Very impressive! You and your dad make a great team.
Are you still planning on that cool Nicson intake? How about the exhaust?
A single pipe with a truck muffler would be suitable (if you don't split the pipes!).

    Thanks.
I decieded to go stock with my motor but do a little dress up, like chrome wire looms. Chrome starter...
The exhaust is stock but will split right behing the motor. And the pipes will be 1 3/4" straights with pencil tip exhaust.

So im ome the hunt for 2 lyon 16 hubcaps like pictured below. I seen a nuce 36 ford with blackwalls and lyond and look killer for that early type. The black kustom below is how I want to french my plate into my decklid like so, and will look pretty killer.

It has been a long short road on the progress train, but most of the bodywork is done except the rear plate. I am going to french that into the deck lid. I finally graduated high school today, so between work this thing should be finished by August.
