I think this turns out to be one of the best '53 I know off...really really like it. Everything seems to fit like a glove, real cool nice kustom car

What a great looking project, sorry it took so long for me to find it. Guess the Business Coupe has a smaller side rear window than a Twodoor, it really looks nice. Bob

Thanks! The coupes have smaller side windows and a shorter roof, longer trunk.

Here is the car as it sits at the moment.

I am currently redoing a botched chop on my friends 1950 merc. It is proving to be a lot of work as I'm having to rebuild a lot of the roof as it was too far gone to fix. Here are a few pics so far.

Once this is finished I will be back onto the 53 to finish the metal work and getting it done. This job will help fund my build.

Glad to hear that hope all goes well fixing other peoples mistakes, if anything it keeps your skills honed and you can usually learn what not to do in the future......

Hey guys, sorry don't use the HAMB much at the moment. My build is at a stop right now as I am currently working for myself out of my shop doing custom work full time. Unfortunately I only have room for one project at a time and don't have the space to work on the 53. It is in storage and will be for the next while. Please be patient and hope to get back on the 53 next year to finish it. You guys can follow my work on Instagram, my name is @gordonkustoms.

Duuuuuude! Your taillight treatment is amazing! I'm in the middle of sectioning my 54 Desoto... I'm also putting 56 bel air taillights in it. I really wanted to use 55s, but I'm poor, and I had 56s already. Hopefully I can make them look cool on a sectioned Desoto body......

Those would be handy for the section I'm doing! Check out my post.
