How late do y'all go?

 

I believe it last till around 8:00 9:00.

 

I went last year and it was.....okay. I won a trophy and it was humid as all get out. Mostly late models, but the older cars were well done. I just heard about it like now, so if I'm out and bored, I MAY go to it. It's $30 per car and you get a goodie bag.

 

Was a good show, lot of late model stuff, me included. They were running the Texas 1/2 mile as well there. Fastest car I saw do it was at 191 mph and an Electric car did it at 151 mph. Nice to see the old Warbirds.

 

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I shined up my T Bucket and headed that way around 10am. But the driving was so relaxing, I just kept driving. Had a nice cruise and dropped 105 miles on the odometer. I didn't really mind the late models last year. My focus was on the planes 30 after arriving.

Ok- preregistered and will be there with the recent rr save. 54 chevy belair. I am already doing a 54 resto/custom, so going to pass this one along if anyone decides they like the old girl. I am going to try and get up that way friday night and get a hotel, but if i cant- then running up early saturday. If you see me or the old girl- stop and say hi!

 

I didn't make it....got distracted by a good deal on a caddy motor and had to drop it in the 56. You have a 54 Belair for sale?

Yes- she is has rust, but running original drivetrain- numbers matching. I saw it behind a building for a year and finally hopped the fence when I saw someone to ask about it. They were going rr with it... I have had it around a month and got her running nicely- just havent had a chance to look at the high gear on the powerglide yet. Has most if not all of the interior and exterior trim.

Heights local group is meeting up this Sunday at Boomtown Coffee @ 8:30AM. Not too many HAMB friendly cars, but some sweet rides will be there.

I'm leaving Lake Charles around 6 Saturday morning and heading up to the Hoedown. Is anybody else going that way?

 

Looks like I am heading up friday night. Does anyone know if they are cool with dogs at the show? Depends on that if I stay in hempstead or waller.

I was shooting for it, but driving my truck with a 30ft trailer... parking might not be great at the theater for me. Will have my rough black 54 belair on the trailer.

Is the swap meet generally good at the Hoedown? I don't have time saturday to stick around very long, but i'd like to hunt down some things.

No drive in....it's a metal building with a ticket counter in the front. You buy your ticket and food and then go sit on picnic tables on the side of the building to eat and wait for the movie to start.

 

Some heavy rain hit and caught a few of the topless cars like the 50 stude a few cars down from mine. Everybodys ride alright?
