The Friday Art Show

One of the best things about Friday is the art that pops up on the H.A.M.B. The Friday Art show has become legendary around the low brow parts of the world and we are pretty damned proud of the content it generates.

This week’s show features a number of pretty incredible pieces, but the art that really hit me was the pencil job above done by Surf Monkey. A few years ago, he sent me a gorgeous rendering of my ’38 without so much as a note attached. It just showed up in the mail one day…

What I really like about his stuff is how passionate it all feels. I’m not sure if he gets his inspiration off the top of his head, from photos, or what… BUT, it always gives ya the feeling that he spent a great deal of time studying the subject matter before he even put pencil to paper. I dig that.
