Early 60s Drag Racing at Cordova Dragway

Cordova Dragway in Illinois, is located right across the Mississippi river from Iowa, half way between Chicago and Des Moines. Cordova was one of the first purpose-built dragstrips in the country, as they’ve been racing here since 1956, and hosting the ‘World Series of Drag Racing’ since the earliest days as well. Watch the film below, as there are plenty of very cool dragsters (and a few Rat Fink hats!) in this 4 minute clip shot at the Dragway around 1963, from my best guess.
