The Barris ’53 Glazier Oldsmobile is heading off to Auction

Remember the video I shared about Chip Foose locating that late 50s Barris Kustom 1953 Olds convertible? Well, the car is all fixed up and runs this coming Saturday at the Mecum sale in Kissimmee, Florida! As I said in my last post, I really appreciate Chip preserving as much of the car’s customizing originality as possible, and below you’ll see him sympathetically replicating the hand-striping using traditional techniques. Although personally I’m not a huge fan of the quad headlamps (which were obviously all the rage in that time period), the rest of the styling on this car still looks fantastic, and a supercharged Rocket 303 under the hood would make this drop-top pretty fun to bomb around in.
Ultimately, I hope this car brings as many smiles to the new owner as it did for Bill and Bob Glazier…
