Found Photography
This past weekend, a buddy of mine tried to lure me into the tangled web of a vintage photography collection he stumbled across. I passed—God knows I have enough collections and don’t need another obsession gnawing at my brain. Besides, I’ve got a mountain of old hot rod photos, many still trapped in the purgatory of that shoebox, unscanned and gathering dust.
Naturally, this got me thinking about that very shoebox, tucked away in my library, mocking me with the enormity of the task. Scanning all those photos? That’s a job for another lifetime. But… there was a small stack of medium format shots sitting right on top, practically begging to be seen. Maybe I’ll just scan those right quick?
No clue where these came from. My notes say they were snapped between 1955 and 1958, and I’m pretty sure one of you degenerates sent them my way. But regardless, they’re just the tip of the iceberg—gorgeous in every way, and damn it, I know there a few famous cars in this collection – but that ’55? Yes.
