So Cal Car Spotting in the early 50s

Another great film shot on the road, this time it’s the San Fernando Valley, captured right around 1953. The video title says ‘late 40s’ but the dead giveaway this was shot later is the car models and the California license plates with the white lower corner tab (used in 1953 & 1955). This footage is a mix of vehicles and architecture, but there is still plenty to enjoy. There’s a quick ‘Easter egg’ around 2:35 with a moment spliced in from a theater stage performance, and then we cut to a man holding an ‘Elmer Dyer’ cue card getting ready to run the next roll of film. Dyer was a legend in aerial cinematography starting in the late 1920s, so look him up sometime.
