One more from L.A. in the 40s

Last one of the week… Also from the early 1940s and from downtown Los Angeles (West 2nd Street at South Figueroa Street), with the end of the film being taken at McNally’s Pier in Newport Beach/ Balboa Island areas, including a car ferry brining a ’40 Ford over to the island. I’m pretty sure the LA footage was shot between 1940 and ’41, but someone correct me if they think otherwise. I think the Pier shots are from ’46 or ’47 by the license plates and the presence of a post-war Willys Jeep. So many great cars in this film, including roadsters, phaetons and quite a few mystery coupes.

Enjoy the step back in the time!
