The Streets of Stockton in ’62

The Streets of Stockton in ’62

Welcome to the central valley of California in the early 1960s. The sleepy little town of Stockton is only a few miles north of Modesto, where filmmaker George Lucas attended high school the same year this footage was shot (1962), and based American Graffiti on. The camera sets up on a downtown street side, watching all the great cars cruise by after sunset and basking in the neon glow. You’ll see a few lowered mild customs on chrome reverse wheels, some clean 50s station wagons, and even a nifty Chevy Sedan Delivery. Sit back on the streets of Stockton and watch the cool cruise by…

The film clip actually ends 80 miles to the west in San Fransisco at Fisherman’s Wharf.
