Lightning McQueen and Mater finally go to Bonneville…

You read that right. After years of begging, hounding and cajoling my coworkers about how cool Bonneville is, we finally have produced a brand new Disney and Pixar’s Cars clip with Mater trying his hand at land speed racing called ‘Salt Fever’. Truth be told, we almost had a Bonneville sequence in Cars 3, but the story moved around and that part was dropped. However, this new series of shorts is called ‘Cars On The Road’ and you just might like this particular episode. I really tried to make sure the art department got some of the little details right- Like scraping salt off the tires or the way that speeds are recorded out there. Before you immediately start criticizing and complaining, yes, I do know you gotta place a two way average to actually set a record, and Mater’s racing class is made up, but we aim to make these Cars shorts both authentic *and* entertaining!
