A World War II Kustom? …

Well… It’s definitely customized. Watch the the video below about two soldiers from the US Army Air Corp 9th Service Squadron on Morotai Island (Indonesia) that built a one-off custom car from the bones of a Willys Jeep that was slated to be scrapped in 1945. They ingeniously used aircraft salvage parts and drop tanks to make a pretty fun little ‘lead sled’ for cruising around base. No, it’s nothing I’d call elegant, but given what they had to work with on this remote South Pacific island, you gotta hand it to them!

Wonder if either of these guys headed home after the War to become hot rodders? Very likely.
