Talk about a childhood dream come true… I’ve been asked to help judge Semi-Finals for the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, so tune in to their Facebook Live at 5pm PST, if you want to watch the fun. There’s no doubt that Hot Wheels have help inspire many young hot rodders since 1968 (including me), and now they’ve created a rolling car show and tour where builders can enter their vehicles for consideration. The winner gets their car turning into a Hot Wheels die cast! We’ve been given some really wild and wonderful vehicles to choose from, with entires coming in around the world and all levels craftsmanship. There are three basic criteria Hot Wheels wants us to consider, and I thought I’d share them with you for your own car-building inspiration:
Looking at the car, taking it all in, and then wondering if it truly feels like a life-sized Hot Wheel?
What really stands out from the rest? Did the builder copy other’s ideas or did they really think outside of the box?
A car that is built, not bought. Can you tell how much effort & elbow grease the builder put into it?
