Hotrod-A-Rama: Resurrected!

Hotrod-A-Rama: Resurrected!

A little while back, I got a message from Dale Seaholm inviting me to a car show up in Oregon. As many of you may know, Dale is a longtime H.A.M.B.er who is no stranger to the world of traditional hot rod and custom cars. Off the top of my head, I was most familiar with his radical “Holy Hell” ’34 five-window that I was drooling over at the Grand National Roadster Show somewhat recently. Flames. Louvers. Bell-tipped, side exit exhaust? He’s got it figured out.

Anyways, our digital dialogue about hot rods and magazines soon turned to a phone call. We talked some about his coupe, my roadster project and then the upcoming show: The HotRod-A-Rama. The premise was a straightforward one—gather some of the West Coast’s best iron for a very full weekend in Pendleton, Oregon. The story goes that the show is back from a 10-year hiatus and, according to Dale, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

Sometimes schedules work out and other times they don’t. I’m just coming back from a whirlwind Pacific Northwest trip, and I’m off to Kentucky for a work assignment this Thursday. Although I can’t make it to this year’s HotRod-A-Rama, I’ll be watching the H.A.M.B. closely for coverage.

One last point: I told Dale right off the bat that I pretty much never use this space to promote events. That being said, I feel that this one is an exception to the rule. Below, you’ll find a sampling of the pre-registered cars. If you’re looking to find out more, make sure to check out their site here. And if you’re going, make sure to take some pictures to share with the rest of us!
